Why Apple iTunes is anti-intelligence

Let’s say you have an iPod Touch. You open an account, tied to an email. Maybe bought a few albums?

Fast forward a few years later. You buy a new iPod Touch, because your other one broke years ago. You decide to make a new account, under a different email. Uh oh. You’ve committed the crime of creating a 2nd account. You wanted all that stuff you bought on the previous account merged with your new account? Can’t, because Apple. Very reasonable.

Long story short, I’m willfully switching details on my new iPod Touch. That said, I will never buy another album, or app, on that infernal platform. Expensive lesson. I like the iPod Touch for what it is: a stand-alone music player with its own battery. But the inability to decide what you can do with your purchases ultimately means you’re tied to the product. Yeah yeah, I’ve know why they do it. You can’t deny it sucks a big one, though.

Peace.
