Hello again, thought I’d write another C64 music post, because it’s my website and I can pretty much do that if I want to.
Ah, the good ol’ Commodore 64. Who would have thought, even at the time, that you could crank out such compositions from its SID chip? I believe that the “elite” composers used hidden functions to produce weird sounds, which they fully exploited. I’m not doing the history of C64 music composition justice, so I suggest you look up further information online – it’s really quite fascinating. In the UK, the Spectrum was the PC system many oldheads remember fondly, but it was the C64 that had a truly international market; it shows in the variety of the composers.
Anyway, enough me – more chip music. Here’s another 5 to wrap your head around. Some are the opening themes, others are from different parts/stages of the game(s). If you already knew these ones & were hoping for something new … I don’t know what to tell you? This is more for people with zero knowledge of the system, to try & get them into the C64.
